Anakena Beach
Hanga Roa · Chile
The short version, from the cited sources
Anakena is the white coral-sand beach of Easter Island and one of the most extraordinary beach settings on Earth: the restored moai of Ahu Nau Nau stand with their backs to the sand, topknots intact, where oral tradition places the landing of the founding king Hotu Matu'a. Palms imported from Tahiti shade the cove, and the water is clear and often calm. It is effectively an archaeological site with swimming.
