Cala Goloritze
Baunei · Italy
The short version, from the cited sources
Cala Goloritze, at the base of Sardinia's Gulf of Orosei cliffs, is reached only by a ninety-minute descent from the Golgo plateau or by swimming ashore; boats must anchor outside the protected zone. A natural arch frames one end and the 143-metre limestone needle of Punta Caroddi, a celebrated climbing spire, rises directly behind the white shingle. Created by a 1962 landslide and now a national monument, it has been named the finest beach in the world in recent rankings, with daily access capped and booked in advance.
