Cala Macarella
Menorca · Spain
The short version, from the cited sources
Cala Macarella and its smaller twin Macarelleta are the signature coves of Menorca's south coast: pockets of white sand enclosed by pine-covered limestone walls, holding water of swimming-pool stillness and color. Summer access is managed by shuttle bus from Ciutadella with the approach road closed to cars, and the Cami de Cavalls coastal path connects the coves on foot. The island's biosphere-reserve status keeps the shoreline undeveloped.
