View of Camps Bay Beach in Cape Town
Camps Bay Beach in Cape Town.

The short version, from the cited sources

Camps Bay lays a broad white beach directly beneath the Twelve Apostles buttresses of Table Mountain, five minutes over the ridge from central Cape Town, with a palm-lined strip of cafes facing the sand. The Atlantic here is startlingly cold even in summer, courtesy of the Benguela current, so the beach's life happens mostly on the sand and at sunset. The mountain-to-sea setting is among the most dramatic of any urban beach.
