Fistral Beach
Newquay · United Kingdom
The short version, from the cited sources
Fistral is the home beach of British surfing: a west-facing Cornish strand that catches Atlantic swell with unusual consistency and has hosted the country's main surf championships since the 1960s. The Cribbar reef off its northern headland occasionally produces genuine big waves, and Newquay's entire economy tilts toward the board culture centred here. Cold water and wetsuits are simply part of the deal.
