Nauset Beach
Orleans · United States
The short version, from the cited sources
Nauset Beach is the outer arm of Cape Cod at its most elemental: a long Atlantic-facing barrier of sand and dune within the Cape Cod National Seashore, with cold green water, genuine surf and a shoreline that storms visibly rearrange. Grey seals now gather here in large numbers, and the white sharks that follow them have made shark-awareness flags part of the beach's routine. It is a place shaped by erosion and honest about it.
