Nungwi Beach
Zanzibar · Tanzania
The short version, from the cited sources
Nungwi occupies Zanzibar's northern tip, where the island's dramatic tidal flats give way to water deep enough to swim at most hours, a practical advantage that made this fishing village the island's busiest beach. Traditional dhow-building continues on the sand between resorts, and sunset dhow sails leave directly from the beach. The turquoise shallows over white coral sand define the Zanzibar of photographs.
