Palolem Beach
Canacona · India
The short version, from the cited sources
Palolem is south Goa's ideal-form beach: a full crescent of golden sand between two wooded headlands, calm enough at its centre for genuine swimming, with seasonal palm-hut villages assembled and dismantled around each tourist season by rule. Kayaks work the bay, and boat trips leave the southern end to look for the humpback dolphins that feed offshore. It is the gentler counterpoint to north Goa's party coast.
