Kuta Beach
Kuta · Indonesia
The short version, from the cited sources
Kuta is where Bali's surf tourism began: a wide, gently shelving beach whose soft, consistent beach break has taught more people to surf than almost anywhere in Asia. The former fishing village behind it grew into the island's dense budget-travel hub, and the beach absorbs huge sunset crowds facing the Indian Ocean. Board rentals and instructors line the sand from morning to dusk.
