Plage de Palombaggia

Porto-Vecchio · France

The short version, from the cited sources

Palombaggia is Corsica's most celebrated beach: white sand shelving into transparent shallows, red granite boulders at the waterline and a fringe of umbrella pines behind, with the Cerbicale islands offshore. It curves through a series of linked coves southeast of Porto-Vecchio, busy in high summer but never built up, since the pine belt and hills behind remain largely undeveloped. The granite-and-pine framing distinguishes it from any tropical lookalike.
