Playa de las Catedrales
Ribadeo · Spain
The short version, from the cited sources
The Beach of the Cathedrals in Galicia exists only at low tide, when the retreating Cantabrian Sea exposes a corridor of rock arches and buttresses up to thirty metres tall, carved through slate and schist cliffs. Visitors walk the sand between formations that suggest Gothic naves, then leave as the tide returns to the cliff base. Summer access requires a free timed permit from the regional government, a measure introduced to manage crowds.
