Europe · Illustrated record
Playa de Papagayo
Yaiza · Spain
The short version, from the cited sources
Papagayo is the finest of a chain of sheltered coves at Lanzarote's southern point, golden sand cupped in dark volcanic headlands inside the Los Ajaches protected natural monument. Access is by unpaved track with an entry fee per vehicle or on foot along the coast, which keeps development to a single cliff-top kiosk. Clear, calm water and the view across to Fuerteventura's dunes define the place.
