Playa del Amor (Hidden Beach)
Puerto Vallarta · Mexico
The short version, from the cited sources
Playa del Amor, the Hidden Beach of the Marieta Islands off Mexico's Pacific coast, is a circle of sand at the bottom of a collapsed volcanic crater, open to the sky but invisible from the sea. Visitors swim through a low tunnel at managed times under a strict national-park permit system introduced after coral damage forced a temporary closure in 2016. The islands are a seabird sanctuary, and daily visitor numbers remain deliberately small.
