Porthcurno Beach
Penzance · United Kingdom
The short version, from the cited sources
Porthcurno, near Cornwall's Land's End, pairs improbably turquoise water and white shell-sand with two pieces of history: the clifftop Minack Theatre, carved into the granite above the bay from 1932, and the valley behind the beach where Victorian submarine telegraph cables came ashore to link Britain to its empire. The combination of theatre terraces, cable history and tropical-looking water makes it Cornwall's most storied cove.
