Europe · Illustrated record
Porto Katsiki
Lefkada · Greece
The short version, from the cited sources
Porto Katsiki sits beneath a sheer chalk-white cliff on Lefkada's exposed southwest coast, its narrow strip of pale pebbles reached by a long stair from the clifftop parking or by boat from Vasiliki and Nydri. The name, goat's harbour, nods to the only creatures that once reached it. The combination of white cliff, bright shingle and saturated turquoise water places it among the most photographed beaches in Greece.
