North America · Illustrated record
Shoal Bay East
Anguilla · Anguilla
The short version, from the cited sources
Shoal Bay East is the beach that made Anguilla's reputation: two kilometres of powder-fine white sand and layered turquoise water on a low coral island that has resisted large-scale development. Reef patches within swimming distance hold snorkelling, and a handful of low-key beach bars rather than resort towers set the tone. It is regularly named among the finest beaches in the Caribbean by travel press.
