Spiaggia di Tropea
Tropea · Italy
The short version, from the cited sources
The beach at Tropea lies beneath one of Italy's most dramatic town settings: Calabrian cliffs carrying centuries-old houses straight down to pale sand, with the Benedictine sanctuary of Santa Maria dell'Isola on its own rock headland dividing the shore. The Tyrrhenian here is clear and often calm, with Stromboli's volcanic cone visible across the water on clear evenings. The town above was named Italy's most beautiful village in 2021.
