Yonaha Maehama Beach
Miyako-jima · Japan
The short version, from the cited sources
Yonaha Maehama on Miyako-jima in Japan's far-southern Ryukyus is routinely called the country's finest beach: seven kilometres of flour-fine white sand facing shallow, transparent turquoise water, with the long Kurima bridge crossing the lagoon in the middle distance. The subtropical latitude gives it warm water most of the year, and Miyako's coral-limestone geology, with no rivers to carry sediment, keeps the sea exceptionally clear.
