Zuma Beach
Malibu · United States
The short version, from the cited sources
Zuma is Malibu's big open beach: a long, broad stretch of light sand west of Point Dume with notably clean water, steady surf and far more room than the celebrated but narrow breaks closer to the pier. It is a classic Los Angeles family and bodyboarding beach, with rip currents that keep its lifeguard service busy. Dolphins working the outer sandbars are a common sight from shore.
